Neighbors for Neighborhoods is a lean, bootstrap organization made up of volunteers. This role offers real flexibility and hands-on experience.​ Arlington's Missing Middle fight is headed to the Virginia Supreme Court — and while we wait for a hearing date, multiplex permits keep getting approved and residents keep getting angrier. Neighbors for Neighborhoods (NfN) is looking for someone who wants in on the fight: tracking permits, rallying neighbors, and helping us run a stronger, more visible communications operation. This role reports to Jay Hamilton of Hamilton Media, who runs communications and PR for NfN. Jay is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist, political media consultant, and founding member of StorySquad, a video storytelling company. So, you'll be learning from someone who's done this at a high level and is now applying it to a local advocacy fight that matters. This is a wide-ranging role. We don't expect you to be fluent in every piece of it. We expect you to be curious, fast-moving, and willing to learn.

• Tracking Arlington County's EHO/Missing Middle permits

• Alerting residents when a permit is approved — creating and posting flyers

• Coordinating neighbors on a course of action once alerted

• Monitoring active appeal cases

• Recruiting and coordinating residents to speak at County Board meetings

• Contributing ideas as our advocacy strategy evolves
